Hamilton Beach 33967 Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker Review.
"Great crock pot!" 2009-01-31
By mom2three (Ohio)
We love this product! The features on it are fantastic. We especially like the probe setting. You simply insert the probe into your meat and it will monitor the cooking process until the meat has reached the desired temperature. It then automatically switches to a low setting to keep your meal warm until you are ready to eat. There's no guessing how long it will take to cook. Throw in a few vegetables and have a home-cooked meal with very little fuss!
Another awesome feature is the clip-tight gasket lid. It's perfect for traveling to pot-luck dinners without worrying that you will ruin the upholstery in your car from a spill.
Our family highly recommends this product!
One note of caution. Watch the price when ordering online. Amazon currently has it selling for nearly $200, but it can be found in stores for a fraction of that price--usually $50-$60.
"Super pot" 2009-02-05
By Harold Chantker (Denver, CO)
First, I have to tell you I am a 73 yr. young widower. I finally got tired of quick meals, TV meals, eating out, etc. Soo, I finally decided that it was time I grew up and started learning how to cook.
I did a lot of research on slow cooker's and decided on the Hamilton Beach 33967. I let it set on the counter for a week before I decided to either send it back or, try it.
My first attempt was a pot roast with potatos, carrots and celery. Followed the recipie except added/subtracted sesonings that sounded good to me.
Much to my surprise, I had a VERY! tender roast with great veggies. Made enough to have a meal and freeze rest for several meals. (Wrong). I had it for supper, lunch and dinner the next day and lunch the third day.
Pot performed great and meat came out tender as butter.
"Rate the Product! Not the Amazon Seller? Excellent $50 Slow Cooker!" 2009-03-29

This product should be average rating 5 stars and I am rating it that.
All of the low 1 and 2 star ratings are negative due to the Amazon Marketplace reseller who has the product way over-priced! However; if you have been shopping price and reading reviews, you know already that this Hamilton Beach sells for around $40 - 50; Non-Programable slow cookers for $20 - $30 are also out there that work fine; and All-Clad has an excellent one for $180. But this site is to RATE THE PRODUCT!! Not the PRICE!
The product is the Hamilton Beach 6-quart Programmable Slow Cooker.
And the product is a a very good one and excellent value.
It does have a few flaws....
You have to program it correctly....or you will come home to a cold disappointment. So read the instructions and pay attention or use it more often. You do have to be careful when removing the crock from the unit...handles a tad longer would have made it perfect.
I probably would have rated it 4 stars because of these minor flaws....but it cooks so well and I want to off set some of these ridiculous low ratings!
If you want a programable slow cooker, do not want to spend a small fortune, this is a good one to get.
"Better Late than Never" 2008-12-06

In viewing Thanksgiving recipes I read that keeping mashed potatoes in a slow cooker was a time saver as well as eliminating items that need to go in the oven. I went online and, believe it or not, there were reviews on slow cookers from Consumer Reports! This Hamilton Beach was the top pick so my search was immediately over! I was distressed since the delivery date was a month away, and I needed it for Thanksgiving. It arrived early and was a big hit. I finally used it last nite for my dinner. What a treat to walk in my door and have my dinner waiting. Sauerkrut and spareribs of all things, but it was very good. Perhaps a little brown suger - from my old cooking days - would enhance the dish. I am very pleased with this product.
"Very Nice!" 2008-12-29

This is my first crock pot. I did a lot of research online and this one seemed like the best one for the money. I am very happy with it and love all the features this one has over other models. The locking lid is great and clean up a breeze. I found it very easy to use, nice & simple. I like the keep warm feature. I haven't used the probe yet but do plan on it. I like that it is 6 quart size, not too small. I think I will be using this for many years. Very happy!
